Multiple Versions of IE on the Same Computer

Windows Internet Explorer

Image via Wikipedia

As any web developer knows, when building websites, it is wise to check if the site looks correctly in different versions of Internet Explorer because each version can potential render a website differently or even incorrectly.

Unfortunately, you cannot install multiple instances of Internet Explorer on the same computer – that is until now.  Internet Explorer Collection includes practically all versions of Internet Explorer from Version 1.0 to 8.0.

If you need to use multiple versions of Internet Explorer for testing, then download this tool now.  Otherwise, move along, there is nothing to see here.

How to Capture an iPhone or iPod Touch Screen

Toms iPhone ScreenWhile writing up the iPhone Stuff page, I needed to grab some screenshots from my iPhone.  I quickly Googled for the answer and found out that I could easily grab a screenshot by holding down the Home button, then punching and releasing the top button.  The screen would darken and capture the image while making the snapshot sound.  Now, how do I get it on my computer?  The article I read mentioned downloading the Apple SDK and then you can move files through iTunes.

The Apple SDK is over 1GB!!!!

I thought there had to be a better way.  Sure enough, just go to Camera, press the Camera Roll button on the bottom left (press twice if necessary), select the picture, then press the arrow button on the bottom left.  Select Email phot.  I'm sure you can figure out the rest.

See if you can spot something unusual about the home screen of my iPhone.  I'll give you a clue:  PdaNet is not available from the App Store.

Happy Birthday, Macintosh

Remember this commercial?  It aired during the Super Bowl 2 days before the launch of Apple’s new Macintosh on January 24, 1984:

“... and you’ll see why 1984 won’t be like 1984”
