Shrink Your Photos Down in Size with Picasa by Google

Picasa is a great, easy to use photo manipulating software package that is free from Google.  It has a number of cool features, but resizing images is a little tougher to figure out.

When you first install Picasa, it will scan your computer for pictures.  Select the picture(s) you want to resize and then go to File -> Export Pictures to Folder. Make sure "Resize to" is selected and use the slider or enter the maximum number of pixels that you want in the largest dimension.

Thank you!

This was really helpful in a pinch!

Thanks, I have been trying to resize photos for a particular program, and it took days, until I just found success using your tip. Thanks again.

would this solve my problem of....

When I bring my pictures to costco or wherever to get developed.  I have made my pics into collages then I burn them on CD I bring them in and the developer says that my pictures are coming in bigger than a 4 by 6 photo so they need to be shrunk a bit.... Would this do it?
