How to Capture an iPhone or iPod Touch Screen

Toms iPhone ScreenWhile writing up the iPhone Stuff page, I needed to grab some screenshots from my iPhone.  I quickly Googled for the answer and found out that I could easily grab a screenshot by holding down the Home button, then punching and releasing the top button.  The screen would darken and capture the image while making the snapshot sound.  Now, how do I get it on my computer?  The article I read mentioned downloading the Apple SDK and then you can move files through iTunes.

The Apple SDK is over 1GB!!!!

I thought there had to be a better way.  Sure enough, just go to Camera, press the Camera Roll button on the bottom left (press twice if necessary), select the picture, then press the arrow button on the bottom left.  Select Email phot.  I'm sure you can figure out the rest.

See if you can spot something unusual about the home screen of my iPhone.  I'll give you a clue:  PdaNet is not available from the App Store.

I admire the useful data you

I admire the useful data you offer in your articles. I have added you in my social bookmark and have my friends check up here often. I am fairly positive they are going to learn plenty of new stuff here. I’m waiting for your next post. Home Security Dallas

This is neat

This is really cool, it makes you realise actually how much can be done with the iphone when you do a bit of digging, Apple really is at the forefront of technology and being able to take a screenshot like this on my iphone is awesome, it is useful in showing people what you are doing, instructions wise etc. Adam @ the

ok I get it but did you know you can hack it? I found some iphone hacks @ imarksweb.net

Aperture

I did this by accident, and when I plugged in my ipod touch to charge, aperture came up, showing the screen shot I had taken. That's another way to move them off your iPhone/iPod!
